Stupa Workshop: Let’s build a stupa!
With Jane Pathan-Friedewald

Berlin, a city full of culture, is also becoming a more spiritual city. Many of the world’s spiritual traditions find themselves represented here, including numerous Buddhist traditions, represented by more than 50 practice centres. To build a stupa in a city where two world wars began, a city that is full of monuments dedicated to the genocide of the Jewish population of Europe and the horrors of the holocaust, will contribute to the unfolding of inner peace and harmony. A stupa influences the relations between people as well as the environment. Please help us to complete this stupa, dedicated to world peace.

The construction of the stupa is being coordinated by Jane Pathan-Friedewald, who has deeply studied Buddhism, the Tibetan language, and practical applications of Buddhist philosophy. She has also been involved for many years in the building of the Bodhicharya centre. The construction is guided from afar and through regular visits by Choje Lama Phuntshok and Khenpo Karma Namgyal from the Karma Lekshe Ling Institute in Nepal. We hope to conclude our preparations by the coming autumn, and warmly welcome your assistance!

19 – 20.30 Uhr | Mindfulness Philosophy And Shinay Meditation Class (Gastveranstaltung)
Jan 18 um 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Our perception of the world has much to do with our internal attitude. The process of transforming the inner self begins with the practice of meditation. By learning to stay present and open the mind of our heart – step by step – we can be free from illusions, expectations, ignorance, hope, and fear. Quite, sitting meditation, is the first step, to calm the mind, so we can change afflictive states of being and thought patterns. Using the one-pointed consciousness of Shinay meditation, we will train our awareness, to see things as they actually are.

Teacher: Eliza Bishop
Eliza Bishop is an internationally certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor and Meditation Practitioner. She began her practice of healing and alignment with yoga 14 years ago and through the science of Iyengar Yoga she has been exploring the interconnectivity of all facets of being. The precision and alignment of Iyengar Yoga builds a solid foundation for experiencing the cosmic core of being, with softness, compassion, and intuition, whilst the subtle journey of Pranayama allows her to explore the vast realms of inner space. She has studied with the Iyengar family in Pune, India, and regularly makes retreats with Swati and Rajiv Chanchani of Yog-ganga in Old Rajpur, India. For Eliza, the art of teaching means bringing human beings into an asana with complete involvement of body, mind, and breath, creating awareness that allows one, eventually, to study the mind. In her Mindfulness and Meditation Classes Eliza presents a basic understanding of how to have clear vision, so that students can connect their understanding of the way things are, and not the way they seem. With this union, students are freer to respond to life and experiences fully, with no resistance at all, and with no resentment what so ever. For Eliza the yogic and Buddhist paths merge into one and have solidified a life long practice of evolving towards equilibrium in every moment of mindfulness.

FR 20.1.

18 – 19.30 Uhr | Iyengar Yoga For All (Gastveranstaltung)
Jan 24 um 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word „Yuj“ meaning to yoke, join or unite. This implies joining or integrating all aspects of the individual – body with mind and mind with spirit – to achieve a happy, balanced and useful life, while spiritually uniting one.. People off all shapes and sizes can attend classes. No matter what physical state you start with, yoga improves your general health and attitude to your body. Further, regardless of age, health, or background – yoga is non-competitive and helps each person attain results to the best of their ability.

Teacher: Eliza Bishop
Eliza Bishop is an internationally certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher*. She began her practice, of healing and alignment with yoga, 14 years ago. The support of props, dedication to practice, and incredible teachers has solidified the life long practice of yoga of constantly evolving towards an equilibrium.

*B.K.S. Iyengar, named by Time magazine as “one of the 100 most influential people in the world.” Mr. Iyengar, was regarded as the foremost living yoga teacher. He studied and taught for over 70 years and his dedicated practice and teaching continue to inspire and guide pupils worldwide. Mr. Iyengar and his daughter and son, Geeta and Prashant Iyengar teach and refine this constantly evolving method. Often called “meditation in action,” Iyengar yoga uses the physical reality of the body to know our minds and the deepest parts of ourselves as human beings. The infinite perfectibility of the postures provides a pathway into the development of our cosmic intelligence and our ability to concentrate and sustain focus. Practicing these postures with awareness has an integrating effect and harmonises mind and body and is for every body.

19 – 20.30 Uhr | Mindfulness Philosophy And Shinay Meditation Class (Gastveranstaltung)
Jan 25 um 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Mrz 22 um 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
