The ‘Sonic Meditation Session’ is a 90-minute course focused on using sound created in real time as a focal point for meditation. The course begins with a series of short listening and concentration exercises, and continues with more than one hour of live sound created with the intention of guiding the practitioner through subtle waves of deep contemplation.

The sounds are created using self-made recordings of natural environments combined with live music performed on acoustic and electronic instruments. The music consists entirely of original compositions created explicitly for the Sonic Meditation Sessions.

Suitable for any level of experience with meditation, including absolute beginners. Everyone is welcome!

Adam Goodwin is a composer, double bassist, multi-instrumentalist and visual artist based in Berlin.

He has been practicing meditation and studying Buddhism for more than 20 years, and is deeply interested in the ways music and sound are used within spiritual and religious practice.

His artistic work is closely connected to and influenced by the natural world, and he regularly embarks on tours and excursions in which he composes, improvises, films, records, and explores in wilderness areas and nature parks. It was during these experiences that he began formulating the concept for the Sonic Meditation Sessions.

Goodwin led regular sessions at Bodhicharya Berlin for more than one year, and now returns with a limited series of courses featuring a renewed and refined approach and instrumentation.
